Certificates in Ivan Allen College

The schools of Ivan Allen College offer a wide variety of certificates for students who wish to focus on course work in areas of interest to them. Students are encouraged to pursue minor and certificate programs at Georgia Tech to broaden their knowledge of other disciplines to expand their potential for success in their future endeavors. Pursuing a certificate is a fantastic way to develop an interest into a skill—or even turning it into a new passion.

If you decide to pursue a certificate, meet with the advisor in the department offering the certificate to plan the appropriate courses. Remember: it is not necessary to decide which certificate to pursue within your first semester at Georgia Tech. However, you are encouraged to explore your options and keep your advisor(s) informed.

Prior to graduation, you will fill out a certificate form from the department in which you complete the certificate. Certificate forms need to be signed by the department granting the certificate and by your main advisor. They do not go the Registrar. Certificates will be mailed to you after graduation.

All certificate programs require at least 12 hours of course work, and at least 6 hours must be taken at the 3000 level or higher.
