			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Congratulations are in order for Irina Falconi! Falconi is a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">History, Technology, and Society</span> major at Tech featured in the 2010 January/February issue of Georgia Tech&#8217;s Alumni Magazine. Falconi plays tennis for the Georgia Tech women&#8217;s tennis team. Before coming to Tech, Falconi played in pro tournaments and even took a year off from her studies to play professionally. Since enrolling at Tech, Falconi has won 30 singles matches, was named an All-American,  and has achieved two singles titles on the Pro Circuit.</p>
<p>Ivan Allen College extends its gratitude to Falconi for her commitment  to athletics and academia and wishes her success in her endeavor to make the ACC All-Academic team and to be ranked in the top 10 in the Women&#8217;s Tennis Association!!</p>

		<description><![CDATA[The Fall 2009 President's Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) were able to fund 76 salary proposals for fall. ]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>We are pleased to announce that selections for recipients of funding for the Fall 2009 President&#8217;s Undergraduate Research Award (PURA) for salary have been finalized.</p>
<p><span id="more-510"></span>The program received over 146 applications for funding.  This is the highest number of proposals ever received by the program and a 30% increase over the past highest fall application rate.</p>
